Magic City Morning Star

Ken,

I have just read your editorial on the internet and as a result - we will certainly be investigating the matters that you address in your article about Mr Kristan.

We are very pleased that your council acted in a responsible manner. However it is regretful that your article tends to link our firm and myself with Mr Kristans activities.

I have personally not met Mr Kristan nor has any person from our company at SuperYacht Technologies we would therefore appreciate that you contact us if you require any further information on the subject. Also if Mr Kristan has used our good company name for any activities, then we certainly need to know about it.

Ken, would you also be kind enough to remove my name and our company from your editorial as it really does reflect badly on our reputation. Our company and directors have an impeccable reputation, they are 100% honest reliable and conduct themselves in a very ethical manner - As you can imagine it is very disturbing to us to see this article.

Please contact me in relation to this, will look forward to hearing from you and working with you in the future.

Best Regards

Tony Hashfield
SuperYacht Technologies Australia

Mr. Hashfield,

Prior to publication of my article on Avenger Boats and Frank Kristan, I had written to you asking specifically about Mr. Kristan's relationship with your company.

I wrote to your company hoping to establish whether or not Mr. Kristan was affiliated in any way with SuperYacht Technologies. That would have been an ideal time for you to have affected the direction of the story, making it clear that there was no connection between your company and Mr. Kristan.

Had you replied with a denial of any relationship with Mr. Kristan, that additional information would certainly have been included in my article on Avenger Boats, Inc.

Instead, your reply gave me little to go by, except that your reference to Mr. Kristan by his first name seemed to imply, although certainly not establish, familiarity.

I do not wish to establish a policy of significantly changing the text of a story once it has been archived, as has the Avenger Boat article, but I will append the story to include your disclaimer. I hope this meets your needs.

I try to be fair, objective, and truthful in stories published at the Magic City Morning Star. I sat on the Avenger Boat story for nearly two weeks, waiting for information to come in from various sources, including SuperYacht Technologies. Once the council acted to withdraw its offer to Mr. Kristan, however, I had to go with the information that was available to me at the time.

I hope you understand.
