Millinocket Fire Dept. Responds to Fire at 59 Spruce
MILLINOCKET -- The Millinocket Fire Dept. responded to a fire at a house at the intersection of Spruce and Katahdin Streets on Friday evening.
The fire call came in at approximately 6:30 p.m. and, as of this writing shortly before 10:00 p.m., firefighters are still on the scene.
Reportedly, the residence at 59 Spruce Street is subdivided into apartments. At least one of the apartments was damaged to the extent that it was uninhabitable, but it is uncertain whether the residents of other apartment units will be staying elsewhere this evening.
There were no injuries.
The Millinocket Fire Department, which responded with three pumpers, was assisted by Millinocket police officers and at least one state trooper, who provided traffic control.
Traffic was rerouted for about three hours while fire suppression operations were underway.
