Television news is boring, depressing, and misleading. It is always the same, every day - fires, floods, storms, murders, child molestation, economic failure and other generally useless and bad news. Of this constant garbage stream, usually only the brief Weather Report is of value to me. I am not affected by, and do not care about, someone's house burning a hundred miles away, or yet another murder in the city high-crime area.
Television distorts reality, by presenting one shooting murder without mentioning the hundreds of murders that were prevented by home owners displaying a firearm to drive off the criminal. How many homes in the city did NOT burn that day, and how many city people were NOT murdered? How many vehicles went by safely WITHOUT having a crash? National television news is built on the same, predictable, depressing, endlessly repetitive and completely out of context junk. A riot in Africa is of no immediate or long-term interest to me.
Television entertainment is mostly boring, immoral and disgusting. Content is so disgusting and unreal as to be a factor in anti-American hatred and anti-American terrorism around the world. A people whose main or only contact with American culture is the crap they see on American television programs would, reasonably, develop a strong anti-American attitude based on what they watch on U.S. television and not based on the reality of American culture. If my only contact with American culture were American television, I also would hate America.
For decades, television and the media in general have been throwing at us an unending stream of weird, violent, smart alecky and perpetually enraged Hollywood Negroes, glorified homosexuals, sexually irresponsible urban women, assorted terrorists and criminals, unethical business people, and anti-American, anti-family, anti-White, anti-government, anti-religious, anti-personal-responsibility, anti-achievement, and anti-American-culture messages. Where are the programs glorifying achievement, invention, success, and accomplishment? They are very few. NOVA has some good programs. We get Situation Comedies with irritating and disgusting Laugh Tracks dispensing canned laughter every few seconds following un-funny events. Most television programs seen between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. rot one I.Q. point from your brain for each hour of viewing.
Television violates the peoples' trust in government by highly, very highly, biased reporting of politics. Democrats and radicals get coverage far out of their proportional share of political activity. Moderates and Republicans are routinely shortchanged on coverage, especially favorable coverage. People who riot in the streets and violate our national borders are presented favorably and compassionately. People who competently go about their daily lives and make this nation work are presented as some sort of evolutionary throwback living in mud huts in flyover country.
Big oil companies are not evil, they are valuable and legitimate businesses that provide us with energy and petrochemicals that enrich every facet of our lives. Big drug companies are not evil, they develop and manufacture medicines that improve our health and extend our life. Mining companies and timber companies are not evil environmental polluters, they provide the minerals and lumber that become our homes, automobiles, farm tractors, highways, dinner plates, paper products, electrical energy and other foundational pillars of modern society. Electrical generating plants that burn fossil fuels are not filling the air with carbon dioxide that worsens the fictitious manmade 'Global Warming' scam, they are providing part of the energy that keeps civilization operating and are providing airborne food for every green plant on the planet.
Television is full of lies and junk science. Polar Bears are increasing in number, not going extinct. But you would never know that by watching American television. If you want to know evil, look to the environmental movement and modern Democratic Party, both of which are currently trying to shut down America and drive everyone of us back to the Stone Age and Socialism.
I recently received and completed a survey concerning my weekly television viewing, day by day. Many of the completed survey pages were still blank when I finished and returned the survey, because my television was off all day those days . Where there were entries, the programs were watched for an hour, maybe two hours, and included the mostly disgusting, distorted and boring local news, plus a couple of favored Sunday night cartoon shows, NOVA, and a few other shows I watched mainly because I was in the same room with another person who was watching the shows.
Communism/Marxism/Socialism has a list of goals to accomplish for ruling the world and ruining America. One of those goals is control of the media. This goal is now largely accomplished, by television stations and other media that spew garbage, and by a Democrat-controlled Congress about to pass the Fairness Doctrine that will shut down Talk Radio.
The old description of television as "A vast wasteland" still largely applies.
