The United States Congress is now crafting legislation that would severely restrict use of energy by citizens and companies in the United States. For example, there is the proposed 'Cap and Trade,' Carbon Tax proposal that seeks to reduce emission of Carbon Dioxide by imposing low upper limits on the amount of coal, natural gas and petroleum that are allowed to be burned to power our homes, factories and transportation system. After a company, such as an electrical generating plant, reaches the imposed limit, the company would have to buy 'carbon credits' from another company that has more allocated credits than it needs, or would have to pay a substantial tax on the excess carbon burned. Current proposals are that the tax would be $20 per ton of coal, rising to $50 per ton of coal within a few years. Electric bills would go up by about 25% initially and by as much as 150% soon thereafter. Of course, the proposed law has a flawed premise based on junk science, the phony, fraudulent, Anthropogenic Global Warming scam that says Earth is warming because of 'greenhouse gasses' released by burning carbon-based fuels such as coal and oil, and that reducing emission of 'greenhouse gasses' would initiate 'Global Cooling' and return Earth to the 'Ideal Climate' of pre-industrial time. It is obvious why the federal government has jumped on the Global Warming program. Global Warming and carbon emissions are a vehicle for government to rake in a vast fortune in taxes and regulatory fees, and for GanGreen environmentalist radicals to shut down another vital component of civilization, the use of energy in daily living. This fits well with GanGreen's chronic attacks on other foundations of civilization such as mining, agriculture, forestry, commercial fishing, private property rights, and so on. Now GanGreen is attacking the chemical element Carbon, a basic material of life itself. GanGreen's agenda is not prudent, conservative use of natural resources, but is rather an institutional death-wish for drastic population reduction and return to the feudal system of government with themselves in control. The federal government is working at cross-purposes. At the same time that Congress is all a-flutter with concern over Anthropogenic Global Warming linked to U. S. emissions of 'greenhouse gasses,' there is refusal by members of Congress to stop illegal immigration, and there continues to be Congressional eagerness to support 'chain immigration' policy whereby legal immigrants who attain citizenship are allowed to bring in all their extended family members. These immigration policies weaken our society and our institutions. Hospitals are going broke because of federal laws that require providing free medical care for illegal immigrants and others who can not or do not pay for medical services. Welfare agencies hand out free food stamps, housing credits and other services that drain government treasuries. Schools are flooded with illegal immigrants' children who can not speak English and whose parents pay little or nothing to support the school system. Illegal and chain immigrants are a large net cost to society. How do illegal immigration and chain immigration fit the premise of the so-called (and fraudulent) problem of Anthropogenic Global Warming and excess carbon emissions in the United States of America? That's an easy answer. The estimated 10,000,000 to 20,000,000 illegal aliens in the United States burn carbon-based fuels in their daily lives. They cook food, use electricity, drive vehicles, and use energy of all sorts. If all the illegal aliens were deported, and all were offered a window of amnesty during which they could voluntarily return home without being arrested or hassled by government officials, the U. S. population would immediately drop and so would U. S. emission of Anthropogenic Greenhouse Gasses. Pollution, crowding, crime, infrastructure maintenance cost, and prices would all drop quickly. If that number also included all people who entered under chain migration the population reduction would be even greater and so would reduction of energy use. Why does Congress not see the obvious and send the illegals and chain people back home? Congress takes no action because illegal immigration and chain migration are a popular form of political embezzlement. The Democrat Party, now in full control of federal government, sees illegal immigrants and chain migrates as potential future votes for the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party is willing to sell out America and America's future to buy a few more votes to stay in power today. No matter that, if this immoral and unethical policy continues, America will be a much poorer place for everyone to live. That is not important. Committed power-seekers are born that way - it is in their genetic code - and they will sell out anyone and everyone to stay in control. William Jud © Copyright 2002-2008 by Magic City Morning Star |
