Take Race Out Of The Michael Vick Dogfighting Case

There is no way to say this other than to just come right out and say it - loud and clear. Just so there are no misunderstandings.

You are a racist if you think Michael Vick is being prosecuted unfairly on federal dogfighting conspiracy charges because he happens to be - a black man.

Have we reached a dangerous point in this country when anytime a high profile black man commits a crime, what always matters first is the fact that he is black? To hell with the rule of law? To hell with the heinous crime at hand? What is wrong with this picture? Well, everything.

I mean, why is the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP even weighing in on dogfighting? Because Michael Vick was a black football player that played for the Atlanta Falcons? Because Michael Vick is a member of the NAACP? Now, I don't know if sick Vick is a member of the NAACP, but what I do know is the only reason the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP held press conferences is because Michael Vick happens to be - a black man. Not to mention, the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP gets a bunch of free publicity. What a disgrace! I thought the NAACP stood proudly for civil rights.

R.L. White, speaking for the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP, probably has no idea how stupid he sounds when he states, "As a society, we should aid in the rehabilitation and welcome a new Michael Vick back into the community without a permanent loss of his career in football. We further ask the NFL, Falcons, and the sponsors not to permanently ban Michael Vick from his ability to bring hours of enjoyment to fans all over this country." I wonder what this dolt thought should happen to the careers of Don Imus and Michael Richards?

Is R.L. White a publicist for Michael Vick? This is some strong copy. And what a load of crap. Thank goodness the NFL had a spine and banned sick Vick indefinitely from the league. Sponsors have turned a deaf ear on R.L. White's pathetic ramblings. They also have a spine, and kudos certainly go out to Nike.

I believe that R.L. White, and anyone else that just can't help but see everything through the lens of the black race, is an idiot. Make that with a capital I. I'm sick and tired of racists standing up for Michael Vick. I never thought so many black people could become racists just because a black quarterback is properly being punished for breaking the law. Sorry, Michael Vick is not God. In fact, he's very far from it.

But if you listen to idiots like Roy Jones Jr, Jamie Foxx, and Stephon Marbury, it's like they want you to believe Saint Mike has done no wrong here. Again, what I'm hearing is black racism through and through. It's beyond loopy.

Roy Jones Jr is a former world champion boxer, and when he weighs in on Michael Vick, it sounds like he has a few screws loose. According to Roy Jones Jr, he doesn't "understand why they're making it such a big issue. Do you have to take it that far? He ain't murdered nobody. Let's move on." With grammar like this, he certainly doesn't sound like a member of Toastmasters International. And no, Roy, we're not ready to move on and make nice. Dogfighting is a serious crime, and it should always be a big issue. Murdering dogs is murder. People who engage in dogfighting are criminals. They are big time losers.

Stephon Marbury is a professional basketball player who sounds like he doesn't even realize he is living in the real world when he says, "We don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals. You know, from what I understand, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors." You've got to be kidding me. Why does he try to compare deer hunting with dogfighting? This is moronic. Dogfighting is illegal. Just because people gamble on it, doesn't make it a sport. Memo to Marbury: how many legal sports in this country are played out behind closed doors? Someone please take the air out of Marbury's basketball.

In the opinion of this writer, comedian Jamie Foxx sounds like the biggest racist when it comes to the Michael Vick case. He sees the black race in everything here. Sounds racist to me. Oh my, how black celebrities come to the defense of thugs. In regard to the heinous crime of dogfighting, funny guy Foxx states, "It's a cultural thing, I think. Most brothers didn't know that, you know. I used to see dogs fighting in the neighborhood all the time. I didn't know that was Fed time. So, Mike probably just didn't read his handbook on what not to do as a black star."

Hello? Earth to Jamie Foxx. Please get your head out of Michael Vick's behind. You see, your pal Mike actually chose not to read his handbook on what not to do as a HUMAN BEING. Foxx takes the cake on what it means to sound like a black celebrity racist. Race. Race. Race. Sorry, but it won't wipe away the crimes a man who can throw a football or dive into the end zone committed against innocent dogs who never consented to fighting or being - murdered.

We're a dog loving country. Apologists for Michael Vick just can't get that through their thick skulls and their obsession with alleged blackness. Millions of both black and white people in this country love dogs, and have them in their homes as pets. Just as you don't hurt children or the elderly, you don't hurt pets. You most certainly don't fight and murder dogs, and than try and call it a sport.

Or worse yet, explain away this barbarism by calling it a cultural thing. It's not a cultural thing, no matter how many black celebrity racists claim it is.

Take race out of the Michael Vick dogfighting case.
