$300 Billion Plus Now Spent - So are You Safer Now? One Day in May
Tuesday, May 10th, 2005 was an auspicious day for American taxpayers as the Senate unanimously passed a $82-billion "emergency" spending bill for the continuing "war on terror," following passage of the bill by the House of Representatives last week and President Bush praised Congress for its bipartisan support of the measure and said he was looking forward to signing it.

Eliminate the Madness
As a citizen of America, I am tired of the threats this government is constantly putting forward with their vague "intelligence" and colour-coding, coupled with their admonitions that citizens should not worry because they are there to protect us.

An Unfathomable Loss
Except for those of us who would have normally been reading the local papers, most of America and the world would have never been aware of the death of Lance Corporal Alexander Arrendondo this past Tuesday in Najaf.

The Object Lesson of Guantanamo
Our soldiers are not fighting for the freedom of Afghanistan or Iraq - they are, under the guise of patriotism, being used unwittingly to implement this administration's bastardised version of democracy.

An Open Letter to the Religious Right - Listen to What Our Country has Become
As a Christian, as a Catholic, as a Democrat, as a citizen of this country, I am compelled to speak out against the actions of those Christians who back this President.

The Roots of Terrorism
The roots of terrorism are two-fold. The first lies in the greed of the exploiters. The second lies in the ignorance of the exploited.
