WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Mike Michaud met in his Washington office with Daniel Seybert, CEO of Peninsula Airways Inc., and the company's president Scott Bloomquist. Peninsula Airways Inc. is an Alaskan airline interested in placing a bid to provide air service to Presque Isle and Bar Harbor.

"It was good to meet with an airline that is interested in providing this critical service to Bar Harbor and Presque Isle," said Michaud, a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. "Given how important air service is to the local economies, it's important that the carrier selected by the Department of Transportation is able to meet the needs of both communities. Each community has a lot to offer, and I am confident they will attract the bids necessary to ensure continued air service."

On December 1st, Michaud received confirmation from the U.S. Department of Transportation that they are committed to making sure that the carrier selected to provide replacement essential air service (EAS) is able to meet the needs of the communities.
