WASHINGTON, DC -- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded four grants totaling $603,861 for airport planning, renovations, terminal expansion, and snow removal equipment. The Millinocket Municipal, Eastport Municipal, Dexter Regional, and Hancock County-Bar Harbor airports all received grants.

"I am pleased the FAA has continued its commitment to improving air travel in our communities," said Michaud, a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. "These important investments to our airports will help to expand operations, service, and new economic development opportunities to travelers throughout Maine."

FAA grants were awarded to four airports in Maine's second congressional district:

  • Millinocket Municipal Airport -- $27,000 Update Airport Master Plan Study
  • Eastport Municipal Airport -- $150,000 Acquire Snow Removal Equipment
  • Dexter Regional Airport -- $122,400 Rehabilitate Apron [Phase I - Design]
  • Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport -- $304,461 Expand Terminal Building [Design Phase]
