1:00 p.m. -- Memorial service for 2nd Lt. Straughan Downing Kelsey, Jr., USMC
Lt. Kelsey was killed while leading his men in action in June of 1967 as part of Operation Union II in Quang Tin Province. The memorial is being held because his actions on that day have only been recently recognized by the state. The service is not limited to recognizing Lt. Kelsey, but all those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our nation. More information of Lt. Kelsey's service provided by his family can be found here. Michaud's office worked to help the family obtain his military records as well as a Maine State Gold Star License Plate, which will be presented on Saturday.

2:30 p.m. -- Western Maine Veteran's Advisory Committee's 2nd annual golf tournament banquet
This event supports the residents of the Maine Veterans' Home located in South Paris. Michaud will attend the event to thank those involved.

4:30 p.m. -- Benefit supper for Sgt. Helaina Lake
The supper is being put on to support the family of Livermore Falls local Helaina Lake, who was severely injured in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan.
