WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Mike Michaud has announced that Bangor International Airport and Princeton Municipal Airport are set to receive nearly $1 million in Department of Transportation funding for facility improvements. The grants, which come from the Federal Aviation Administration, include:

  • $795,000 to Bangor International Airport to restore an access road in front of a terminal
  • Over $161,000 to Princeton Municipal Airport for a new runway lighting system

"These funds allow for airports in our area to make much-needed improvements that will boost safety and convenience for everyone who flies in and out of Bangor or Princeton," said Michaud. "I'm pleased that the airports are receiving the funding they need to make these improvements. The safety of those traveling through our state -- whether it's taking off from the runway or having an accessible road to a terminal -- must always be a top priority."
