Maine Elks State Hoop Shoot Championship Results
SANFORD -- The Maine Elks Association (MEA) State Hoop Shoot competition was held on February 3, 2005, at Sanford High School. The event was hosted by the Sanford Elks Lodge #1470. Eighteen boys and girls competed in the contest to determine the six state champions, who have earned the right to advance to the regional contest to be held in South Portland on March 27-30, 2008.

Maine Games: State Powerlifting Championships, Basketball
BREWER -- The Maine Games State Powerlifting Championships are being held this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25, at the Brewer Auditorium. This is the third year for this event which always provides strong competition for lifters of all ages.  Over 65 athletes have registered for this event so far, and registrations will be accepted at the event.

SACO -- The Maine Games has announced that Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has re-signed as a bronze medal-level sponsor for 2007. The Maine Games is celebrating it’s fifth anniversary this year, and Anthem has been a sponsor of the annual sports festival since the inaugural year in 2003.

Maine Elks Announce State Soccer Shoot Champions
AUGUSTA -- The Maine Elks Association announces the winners from its annual State Soccer Shoot competition held at the Augusta Elks Lodge on October 14, 2006. Twenty-three children, sponsored by six different Elk Lodges from across the State of Maine, competed to earn the right to advance to the regional competition to be held in November in Franklin, Massachusetts. The Elks Soccer Shoot is a nationwide soccer shooting skills contest for children under the age of fourteen.
