SHERMAN -- Kayla Guiggey, age 9, daughter of Debbie and Matthew Guiggey of Sherman, participated in the Special Olympics Games held at Presque Isle on Friday, May 20. Kayla won a Gold Medal, placing first, in the 50-meter, and garnered Silver Medals for second place in the softball and the short jump competition. Sue McAvoy of Sherman is Kayla’s personal helper and attended the Games with Kayla.
