The world famous Harlem Globetrotters will make history in Maine as the first ticketed events in the new state-of-the-art Cross Insurance Center. The Globetrotters will bring their unmatched family entertainment to Bangor for two games on Friday, September 20 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 21 at 7 p.m.

"We are thrilled to be part of an exciting time in Northern New England, as we help open Bangor's new arena in September," said Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider. "The fervor of our fans to see the Globetrotters' 2014 tour, combined with the Cross Insurance Center's grand opening, will make this a weekend to remember."

"The Harlem Globetrotters have been a staple event in this community for years now and we're excited to have them be a part of the Cross Insurance Center's grand opening events," said Global Spectrum's Mike Dyer, General Manager of the Cross Insurance Center.

Coming off a record setting tour in 2013, the Globetrotters' games at the Cross Insurance Center will act as a preview for the team's new 2014 tour, which will bring over 280 games to over 240 North American cities starting on Dec. 26, 2013.

Tickets to both games in Bangor start at $23 and are available beginning Wednesday, July 3 at 10 a.m. via www.harlemglobetrotters.com, www.ticketmaster.com, the New Cross Insurance Center box office, or by phone at 800-745-3000.

Before arriving to Maine, the full team of Globetrotters will spend the first part of September participating in training camp in New York and preparing for the new 2014 tour.

Sponsored by Wonderful Pistachios, Spalding, Russell Athletic, Greyhound Lines, and Howard Johnson Hotels, the Original Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating their 87th consecutive year, continuing a world famous tradition of ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry, and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that continues to thrill fans of all ages. Throughout their history, the Globetrotters have showcased their iconic talents in 122 countries and territories on six continents, often breaking down cultural and societal barriers while providing fans with their first-ever basketball experience. Proud inductees of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the Globetrotters have entertained hundreds of millions of fans--among them popes, kings, queens, and presidents--over more than eight thrilling decades.
