Every week I receive Newsletters and Updates from a variety of sources to which I subscribe. One of them is The Apologetics Press www.apologeticspress.org which deals with things Biblical (from a Christian Perspective).

This week they present two articles, the first of which would be a joke, if it were not so serious. Let me just quote a little from the article : Jailed for Killing Snails? by Brad Harrub, Ph.D.

• (In reference to) ...The Times 'one of the leading newspapers from the Republic of Ireland' on July 10, 2004. The headline read: 'Kill a Snail and Go to Jail?'
• The legislation will also offer protection to creatures such as insects, slugs, worms, caterpillars, and butterflies if scientific evidence proves they suffer pain (Elliot, 2004, p. 1).......Two additional articles on page two elaborate further on the front-page article (see Coates, 2004, p. 2; Scruton, 2004, p. 2). The article by Sam Coates focuses primarily on the relationship between gardeners and slugs, and how it will be affected with this new legislation ... A spokesman for PETA, the animal welfare group, said that this [killing slugs BH] was unacceptable. Compassion must be extended to all living beings. Stamping on a slug sets an example to children that harming animals is acceptable, or that 'might makes right.' People might view snails and slugs as insignificant. But there needs to be more widespread compassion (2004, p. 2).

So there you have it! Mosquitoes, flies, spiders, and let's not forget plants! Every gardener knows that plants have feelings and emotions. We must show respect and consideration for the feelings of the flora and fauna of the universe. First we will do away with those meat eaters, and then follow that up with the vegetarians.

Of course the Apologetics Press put the Biblical slant on things and said it is OK to KILL LIVING CREATURES! - Blasphemy I say! Utter Bias, prejudice and discrimination!  Damn those blighters to hell I say! No more killing mosquitoes. We should respect nature!

Now as any 'intelligent' person knows, there is no 'God', for we all come from some slimy critter that crawled out of the primordial soup. We are the products of EVOLUTION! And what is the first law of evolution? Kill or be Killed! The strongest wins! The fittest survive!

Now I don't want to rain on anyone's parade (like heck!) but I would point out something that is so obvious, that it is apparently oblivious to the 'we love nature crowd', as it is also to the 'we are just better looking monkeys' crowd.

Animals kill animals and EAT them for breakfast, as is highlighted in this following offering from Apologetics Press entitled: Submarine Water Pistols: The Sharp Spitters by Taylor Reeves.

• In the serene waters of the Orient, there is an extraordinary fish known as the archer fish (Toxotes jaculator) that does exactly these things ... Archer fish are well known for their intrinsic aptitude to 'shoot down' insects and diminutive creatures resting on foliage or mangrove roots. They seldom miss anything that is less than three feet away.

Oh the inhumanity of it all! Nature's little wonders going around killing each other. Come to think of it, maybe that is why there is so much death and destruction in the world through wars and invasions etc. We are just doing what comes naturally! I mean to say, if there is no God, no eternal conscious human spirit, no creator and therefore no purpose, we are just here to live our lives, feed our bellies, procreate, strengthen the gene pool, and do our best not to be anyone's supper.

With that in mind, how on earth can anyone object to the slaughter of poor solitary individuals in war? 'Oh but it is inhumane' you say. Maybe! But what does that mean? Nothing really! It just means one king of the beasts in our local area is forcing the rest of us to accept his rules as opposed to doing whatever 'we' want to do.

Now of course, you dear reader, might be one of 'them thar religionists' who believe in the Almighty and what not, and perhaps you think 'it is wrong to go round killin ya enemies!' Well, if that is your faith, then so be it! You are just following the laws laid down by your Creator. But if there is no Creator; if we are just the end product of slimy things that crawled out of the mud; if we don't actually believe in God, or an afterlife, in a higher divine law, then upon what do we base our objections?

The answer is, 'we can't and we don't', we simply just go around telling people that we are the 'king pin' and everybody must do what we say, think what we think, and believe what we believe (or at least claim to believe).

Whether you are an evolutionist or a Bible Believer, one thing is for sure. Both nature and God teach you to stick with the Mob for safety as the clan gathers around to protect itself. You obey the law of the land. You submit to the government. You defend your territory or country.

Now in this world gone mad, where it is an offense to kill a garden slug that is going to steal your sustenance, there are those whose whole bent seems to be, to destroy the garden that feeds us. By garden, I mean Western Civilisation. But if what Judson Cox writes is true (I can't say because I have not see Fahrenheit 9/11 and I am not American), then the people of America are doing their best to destroy their own country. With so many enemies in the world, one would think that you would be sticking together. But this is not the picture painted by Judson Cox.

• On August 25th of this year, I went back to college. I chose Lees McRae College, a small, Presbyterian college in the mountains of North Carolina ... What troubles me is that Lees McRae College is including "Fahrenheit 9/11" among the few College Programs the school will present this semester ... One may wonder why an institution presumably founded for the purpose of furthering knowledge would present a malicious work of fiction as factual documentary ... Hezbollah, the terrorist organization responsible for the most American deaths prior to 9/11, has offered to distribute Michael Moore's propagandist work in Muslim countries ... as a tool to recruit terrorists to kill Americans.
• A college education ... at what cost? Judson Cox September 13, 2004
• The ivory tower elite champion the most abominable evils imaginable under the guise of academic freedom, but will not tolerate pro-American sentiment ... I tried to defend our troops ... but class had a way of ending suddenly ... The final straw came when one of my classmates, whose boyfriend is in the Air Force, asked the class if we would accept yellow ribbons and display them in a show of support for our troops. I was the only person in the class who wanted one. The rest sneered at her or refused to make eye contact ... A student should be able to receive an education without indoctrination ... Their committees ensure that only Anti-American professors get hired, and their policies allow them to punish students who do not conform to their ideology.

Whatever your political persuasion, one would think that your first priority would be to keep your country strong. Unfortunately in the West today, no one gives a damn about society as a whole. Oh we give a damn about slugs in the garden. About the death of an animal. About a criminal's rights. About suing a householder whose roof is so unsafe that a burglar fell through it. We live in societies that will fine you more for hurting an animal than a human. Where more value is placed on one's right to do whatever one wants, than is given to the inherent right to live your life without harassment.

Our elitist intelligentsia and their proteges, the students, who so loudly proclaim PEACE, often have to ram their point home by being violent. I remember some years ago there was a Palestinian Peace march in Australia, in which windows were smashed, cars destroyed, and police beaten.  A few weeks later, those degenerate war mongering Jews had their own Peace March. Gee they must have paid a fortune in bribing people not to destroy property and attack police. (Oh I forgot! They must have PAID people to do such things at the Palestinian rally!)

In both Nature, and the Bible, it is made plain that, 'by their fruits you shall know them'. How about we get rid of the slugs in the garden and start growing some decent fruit!
