From Magic City Morning Star R.P. BenDedek
I always find it strange that those who most devoutly declare evolution to be a fact, along with the fact of the non-existence of God, are never the ones to fully accept the tenets of evolution. Take the Hippopotamus and the Lion for instance, who, upon conquering the 'other' alpha male, kick him out and take over the harem, and then set about killing off the new born infants - er - sorry - I mean animals. If 'men' be animals, why would similar human behaviour be abhorrent? And what about all those wonderfully monogamous female birds who 'cheat' on their male counterparts in order to strengthen the 'gene pool'? Or the spider who eats her mate? Would we say that nothing of the kind occurs in the human realm? And if we would, would we then condone or condemn it? When men accuse women of being interested only in money and power, why is it that despite what we know from evolutionary theory about the female of every species, that the females in 'our' species begin screaming 'sexism'? Have you ever wondered about all those wonderful creatures who, over millennia 'adapted' to the environment? Have you ever wondered about those running animals who grew feathers so as to escape predators? How did they constantly escape becoming dinner for so long? And if they developed such wonderful ability to escape, then why would it be necessary to grow wings? And if there was a need to grow wings, why did it take so long? And if mother nature foresaw the day when wings would be necessary, does that not indicate some form of planning - knowing - awareness? I find that thinking about evolution gives me a headache, not because I find such examples as provided above too difficult to ponder, but because whenever I think about Evolution as a serious truth, then I am left to wonder why society fights tooth and nail against what ought to be the most natural instinct in human nature - supremacy! - at any cost! (Certainly puts Islamofacism into perspective doesn't it?) Of course when I begin to think that, I begin to wonder if that is what political correctness is truly about. It does after all, seek to protect the weaker, the more defenseless minority in society. Does mother nature actually do that? Not from what I have read. And is not political correctness and it's henchmen therefore, just another 'special interest group' seeking dominance of the pride? Pun intended! As a 'conversational teacher' in China, my one theme is that students must firstly have some information about a subject and then form some opinion, so that they can have a discussion; and that memorization and quotation of 'pat' socio-political philosophy does not a conversation make. In fact, they are required to 'think'. To question their own thinking and viewpoints; to look at the contrary viewpoints through the eyes of those who hold to them, so as to understand the reasoning within the contrary argument. Alas, it is a pointless exercise! How can one expect the ignorant Chinese peasant to do that which the average well educated and well informed westerner seems so reluctant to do? To debate against oneself to determine the verity of one's own position. Nah! The Chinese have it right! Do what the westerners do! Just spout socio-political propaganda! Anyway, for those with a mind capable of accepting a challenge, may I draw your attention to an article at Apologetics Press entitled: Evolution is Religion - Not Science [Part II] by Michael G. Houts, Ph.D. This is a rather interesting article that portrays 'evolution' as a religion that cares very little for fact, and everything for 'dogma' and 'doctrine'; and with little consideration given to it's constant need to rewrite it's own 'infallible' pronouncements. I quote here just three lines which I considered quite interesting, but would encourage you to go take a read of the article for yourself.

This is the most blatant manipulation of evolution imaginable and totally contrary to the 'evolutionary instincts' of any species. A faster solution for what is proposed would be for all Australians to commit suicide.
