Slow Sands of Time Rewritten Very Quickly
Nov 13, 2010 - 12:25:29 AM

I published an article the other day entitled: Oh come all ye 'Faith'less; a commentary on an article written by Sarah Honig, about Arab and UNESCO revisionist history.

Writing that article reminded of an article I read some time back, written by Caroline Glick about attacks on Jewish archaeologists.

The article centered around a man called David Be'eri, the founder and head of the "Ir David Foundation". He began his project in 1986 in the City of David which is located just opposite the Old City, and which at that time was in shambles.

"Former excavations were hidden beneath heaps of garbage and debris. Owing to his efforts, today the City of David is one of Israel's most beloved tourist attractions. Some 500,000 tourists visit the site each year. Seventeen archaeological excavations have been undertaken there or are currently ongoing. Annual archaeological conferences at the site attract leading scholars from all over the world."

M/s Glick points out that in large measure, Mr. Be'eri's success has been due to the close relationship that he cultivated with hundreds of local Arabs who were employed to work on numerous excavation sites in the City of David.

That relationship changed however, 'beginning around the time the Obama administration began pressuring Israel to curb its sovereignty in Jerusalem'. She points out that:

Leftist groups including Peace Now, Ir Amim, B'Tselem, the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, Rabbis for Human Rights, and Emek Shaveh have begun organizing frequent protests.

She then relates that 'the demonstrations morphed into suicide protests as activists set up a roadblock in the middle of the street, ambushed an "Ir David security guard" and began violently attacking him. In order to fend off his attackers, the guard shot his pistol and killed one of them. Using faux footage, the protesters accused the guard of murder in cold blood. The police rejected the accusation."

The central point of the article was the use of 'faux footage'. Organizers of these attacks, video tape the incidents and then portray the attackers as 'victims' of Jewish 'race hatred'. This is very much in line with the Arab policy of using human shields and then wailing to the heavens how the inhuman Jews kill women and children.

Recently, although I don't have the link, I read an article in which the journalist pointed out that despite the 'official version' of how many civilians were killed in Operation Cast Lead, a figure in which civilian casualties outweighed miliatry ones, a Palestinian spokesman recently and proudly boasted of the number of 'Palestinian Soldiers' killed in that war. According to his figure, those martyred soldiers represented 75 percent of the total 'officially claimed' to have been killed.

It is marvellous how quickly history can be rewritten.
