I have recently in the Photo of the Day Section, been publishing photos taken in Baotou Inner Mongolia. The other day I published some of a fountain and its surrounds in Qingshan in Baotou. Those photos were taken after a day out at Nanhai Park.
I will in due course write about the trip to Nanhai Park in Dong He Baotou, but today I thought I would show you some of the more 'exotic' photographs that I took.
You have probably read news reports of UFO's buzzing the Baotou Airport at the end of 2010. (I myself saw one over the city - but I ain't sayin nuthin!)
Well here today is a photograph I took from the bus while returning from Nanhai. It could well be the mysterious UFO.
Not photoshopped! This is for REAL!
On the other hand it could be the new sports stadium.
Fancy a cuppa?
Moonshine in the Middle of the Day.
"Not without my permission!" Paparazzi everywhere!
Helen and I walked passed some folk who turned and started taking photos. Helen starts pointing the finger saying: 'No! No! No!' I poked her in the head and she started laughing and then I started taking her photo. We were quite the comedy duo - free entertainment for the locals.
- When I come to write about our trip there will be one part about an obnoxious, disgusting, abusive Chinese teenager who decided (although we were nowhere near him) to abuse us in English with four lettered language. - Yes it does happen in China!
This little girl didn't like our 'devil talk'
We didn't realize that this was a girl at first. She is wearing the typical crutchless trousers. We first saw her from the back and it was a wonderful sight but I just couldn't get a clear shot of her. She was running up the street dodging in and out of places.
We caught up to her in a little shop where I bought an ice cream and coke, and Helen asked if we could take a photo of the child. The shopkeeper told us that the kid was a local and they didn't know where she lived or where her mother was. A few minutes later her mother turned up. This kid didn't like listening to the foreign talk.
Back Lane we walked to get to the Park
In the Photo of the Day June 7th, I wrote that we got lost, and the reason for that was because the bus that took us to Nanhai Park dropped us off in a back street and the conductor told us to walk down this alleyway to the Park Entrance. That single act led to us travelling in the wrong direction when we finally caught our return bus. In fact, the first bus ought not to have travelled down that back street.
But this is REAL China folks! Where the other half live - the ones who don't live in fancy apartments and highrises.
