From Magic City Morning Star R.P. BenDedek I've been reading articles in the press, both here at Magic City and other places, about Michael Jackson's acquittal, and I want to add some food for thought: 1. The courts have declared Michael Jackson not guilty, but that isn't good enough for some people, because they BELIEVE, without evidence, that he is guilty. Those Christians who do this, ought to remember the Scriptures, for they say that you are to be judged according to the judgement you hand out. If God decrees you innocent, who has the right to say otherwise. Christians should go back to their Bibles and not act like non-christians. Those who spend their time knocking Christians for 'believing' without scientific proof, ought likewise to shut their mouths, for to continue to persecute Michael Jackson is to justify all Christians for their beliefs. If it is true because I believe it without evidence, then evidence is not necessary. 2. Jesus said that it is not what goes into one's mouth that defiles them (referring to food laws), but what comes out of their mouths which defiles them. If you want to believe Michael Jackson is guilty, then don't make an ass of yourself by pontificating to the point that the legal system must bow to your judgement. That makes you God. 3. Psychologists tell us that we are what we speak, and fanatical fixation on child abuse, irrespective of Michael Jackson, is more telling about ourselves, than about those whom we judge without proof. 4. It is interesting to note that in all the press about Michael Jackson, what got the ball rolling was his interview in which he held the hand of a boy and admitted to sharing the same room/bed. If sleeping in the same room, or the same bed, or holding hands with children, or even giving them alcohol is proof of sexual deviancy, then almost every Asian man is guilty. 5. If sleeping in the same bed as another man is proof of homosexuality, then every Asian man is homosexual. If this is so, then how did China get such a large population? 6. Did you know that in China everyone believes that Michael Jackson was tried for sexually molesting girls? They can't conceive that he is in trouble for holding hands with a boy and sleeping with him in the same bed. It makes no cultural sense. 7. Despite all our politically correct fixation with multiculturalism (at least in Australia), and our hatred of people who appear to be racist, at the end of the day, before we raise up foreign cultures and place them on the pedestals of public worship, we still tend to legislate away some things that we find displeasing. That in my view is the most racist thing of all. Western culture is extremely focused on child molestation and homosexuality, and rather than seeing Michael Jackson's actions as those derived from a cultural background, they are debased to suit our own personal sexual agendas. We live in a world of gossip and innuendo, mainly because we have too much time on our hands, and despite our claims to the contrary, we are not that kindhearted. As was pointed out by Mark Oaks in his Opinion Letter here at Magic City News, http://magic-city-news.com/article_4039.shtml we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, not vice versa, and we the public only hear the accusations against people, not their defense! Michael Jackson hopefully has learned a valuable lesson from all of this. If he was guilty of these things, he should count himself lucky and have nothing more to do with children. If he was innocent of these things, he should count himself lucky and have nothing more to do with children. Michael Jackson's greatest sin, was to be rich and famous. Michael Jackson has been declared not guilty and we, like him, need to get on with our lives!
