Today I received a photo in my email, and I thought I would share it with you. It is remarkable.
The photograph was taken at Lamington National Park south of my home city, Brisbane. The formation of the birds is quite remarkable, but what got to me when I saw it was - 'homesickness'.
Photograph Caption:
This delightful circle was taken at Lamington national park, west of the Gold Coast. These are native Australian mountain parrots, the red and blue kind are crimson rosella and the red and green are King Parrots. They are feasting on sunflower seed which Mr. Watt had left for them, but did not expect them to form such a perfect ring. This guy on the bottom is about to jump into the centre, to the discontent of the other birds.
O'Reilly Family, Lamington National Park
-
Four years after the arrival of the O'Reilly Family, Lamington National Park was declared, effectively isolating the O'Reilly's from the outside world. While Lamington wasn't Queensland's first national park, it is the most significant, and was regularly referred to as 'Queensland's National Park.'
