Greenpeace, Political Activism and Obeying the Law

I have written a couple of articles recently relating to the 'Political' aspect of Political Correctness. The first was on July 21st entitled: Australia: Racism rears it's ugly head. In the August 5th 2009 article entitled: Political Correctness and Schoolyard Bullying, I wrote:

  • The schoolyard bully is generally an emotionally immature individual either as a result of a lack of proper nurturing or as a result of abuse. They are emotionally crippled individuals. They all have one thing in common though, and that is that they 'love' pushing people around. They love picking on the defenseless.  When caught out in their behaviour, they will lie through their teeth; blame everyone else for their own actions, and accuse everyone else of having caused trouble. They are always in their own minds - victims!

Today in my local online newspaper, I came across an article which demonstrates the truth of what I said.

Greenpeace ship captain arrested August 08, 2009

  • POLICE have charged the captain of a Greenpeace ship following a blockade at a Queensland coal terminal.
  • He has been charged with two counts of unregulated high-risk activity and one count each of wilful damage.
  • He was also charged with failing to comply with a harbourmaster's direction, navigating a ship in a pilotage area without a pilot and operating a ship that endangers safety, police said in a statement.
  • "The kind of action that Greenpeace took is vital," said Fijian Greenpeace campaigner Lagi Toribau.

Notice that it is vital that Greenpeace take 'illegal' action, and action which endangers others. There is always a good reason to justify the behaviour, but in the final analysis, political activists, including feminists, gay activists, multiculturalists, and other politically correct 'isms' always consider that the law only applies to others. It never applies unto themselves.

In Communist history, in whichever country you may choose to nominate, civil war and revolution were proclaimed to have been justified on the basis of the cruelty, illegality and unfairness of the ruling powers.  However, one does not need to research history books to know that once in power, such parties immediately reinforce the pre-existing laws against rebellion, treason and civil war.

It is always a case of 'what is good for the gander is not good for the goose'.

We are constantly being reminded by the politically correct that 'IT IS WRITTEN' in law. But who was it that pressured government to write such laws? Was it not those same self interested parties who now insist that we follow such laws. And what laws did they break in their pursuit of justice?

Whatever cause one wishes to fight, there can never be any justification for saying that one is excused from obeying the law, but that everyone else must.

As I have written elsewhere before: 'If your just cause requires you to lie, it cannot be a just cause'. Justice requires justice. Righteousness requires righteousness.

Any organisation that exempts itself from the obligations placed on society, cannot, and has no right to demand, that the rest of society be obedient.

In the final analysis, so many 'activists' today, and so much activism today, is totally hypocritical.
