Free Speech is a Myth!
By R.P. BenDedek

For those who don't know anything about me, or why I write so many articles about Political Correctness, I wish to point out that I live in Communist China - or more correctly, The People's Republic of China. I am currently in my 7th year of living here, and I absolutely love the place and never want to leave.

I must point out however, that to live as a foreign teacher in China, requires one to daily come face to face with and deal with 'Political Correctness'.

I doubt that there are many westerners who would consider that China is a truly free and open country, where people can think and act as they please. Generally speaking however, it actually is a place where one is free to think and say what one pleases, except that is, when what you say runs contrary to the 'official and sanctioned opinion'.

That my friends is how Political Correctness is ultimately defined. Unless you think, say and do that which is the 'officially sanctioned position', you are in deep 'do do'.

Political Correctness Activists are no different to, no more or less than, those people who rule that Tibet suppressing, human rights abusing communist country called China; the people you and your ideological crowd stand against and call 'totalitarian'.

In China, it is Political Correctness that delineates admirable Patriotism from offensive Nationalism. With Patriots you can discuss your differences of opinion, although sometimes they might not wish to discuss a particular topic.  With the Nationalists however, nothing may be discussed without prior approval and then can only be discussed in accordance with certain pre-requisites.

Nationalists will attack you for every little perceived bit of unacceptable language, slip of the tongue, or carelessly revealed opinion, and they will do so on the basis that you are an offence to China's pride, it's image and it's true and deserved hierarchical place in the world. And this attack will be interspersed with a variety of accusations against your country for what it did to China in the past (even if your country didn't do anything, and even if your ancestors did not live in 'your' country at that time).

The 'Rabid Nationalist' in China, spends his days just waiting for some foreigner to do or say something that will provide him with opportunity to boldly speak out in defence of China and that will justify his tirade against foreigners, Westerners, Americans, White People, Imperialists or whatever segment of the non Chinese world that is currently irritating his bowels.

Make no mistake about what I am really saying here.  In my opinion, Western Political Correctness Activists are no different to 'rabid Chinese nationalists'. There is no place in the political correctness activist agenda for any person who offends them by not supporting their slanted view of the world.

It is for this reason that I fight against Political Correctness whenever I can, and this is now the third article on the topic that I have published within the last month or so.

Political Correctness activism permits no dissension, nor allows any disagreement with the officially presented view on any topic, and it is for that reason that we have to be on guard against it and those who fanatically preach it. It is also the reason why it is absolutely necessary to constantly offer the public, 'the other side' of the 'activist agenda coin'.

One of the most popular 'Politically Correct' Activist Agendas in World Politics today, is the 'Palestinians are Israel's Victims' agenda, and it's twin: 'Israel is a Terror State'. The constant and steady diet of complete and utter bullshit that streams forth from the press and so called humanitarian societies, ought actually to be enough to turn the stomach, but we have become so used to that diet that we no longer notice how repugnant it really is.

Political Correctness if not actually preaching the message directly, inherently insists that anything deemed 'powerless', deserves our support and our forgiveness for any atrocity that it perpetrates.

Muslims are considered the powerless whilst Jews and christians are considered the powerful; so Muslims are the underdogs. Americans are rich and therefore powerful whilst the Chinese are poor and therefore powerless, so anything said against a Chinese person is racist, but anything said against a White American is not 'racist' and is actually deserved by virtue of the white color of his skin.

And of course Israel, which is supported by the U.S.A. and of course by Jews all over the world, is 'POWERFUL' while the terror organisation Hamas is not! So anything that Hamas does to fight the oppression of the terrorist Israel, is JUSTIFIED! And because Hamas is, (in the view of the crazy Political Correctness Doctrine), justified, anything that it or it's supporters say must be correct.

Well, you may believe whatever you like about anything you like.  It is after all a free and democratic world in which we live, and in which we are still free to think and believe what we are told.

So today, rather than tell you what to believe, or to enter into argument on any particular point about the Israeli / Palestinian problem, I am simply going to present to you a few snapshots of viewpoints that constitute 'the other side of the 'Anti-Israel' politically correct agenda.

We start with Surviving in a post-American World: by Caroline Glick Jerusalem Post

  • Like it or not, the United States of America is no longer the world's policeman. This was the message of Barack Obama's presidential journey to Britain, France, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Iraq this past week.
  • Somewhere between apologizing for American history - both distant and recent; genuflecting before the unelected, bigoted king of Saudi Arabia; announcing that he will slash the US's nuclear arsenal, scrap much of America's missile defense programs and emasculate the US Navy; leaving Japan to face North Korea and China alone; telling the Czechs, Poles and their fellow former Soviet colonies, "Don't worry, be happy," as he leaves them to Moscow's tender mercies; humiliating Iraq's leaders while kowtowing to Iran; preparing for an open confrontation with Israel; and thanking Islam for its great contribution to American history, President Obama made clear to the world's aggressors that America will not be confronting them for the foreseeable future.

Appeasing Child Killers by Caroline Glick Jerusalem Post

  • Today, the media's view is shared by both European governments and the Obama administration. For years now the Europeans have accepted the legally unsupportable Arab claim that all Jewish presence in areas beyond the 1949 armistice lines is illegal. Since 1993, supported by the Israeli Left, the US government has gradually moved toward adopting this view. And today this view stands at the center of President Barack Obama's emerging policy toward Israel and the Palestinians.

Hamas's free lunch by Caroline Glick, carolineglick.com

  • Today Hamas stands on the cusp of international acceptance. It may take a week or a month or a year, but today Hamas stands where Fatah and the PLO stood in the late 1980s. The genocidal jihadist terror group is but a step away from an invitation to the Oval Office. Two events in the past week show this to be the case.
  • First, last Saturday, The Boston Globe reported that Paul Volcker, who serves as President Barack Obama's economic recovery adviser, and several former senior US officials have written a letter to Obama calling for the US to recognize Hamas. As one of the signatories, Brent Scowcroft, who was national security adviser under president George H.W. Bush, explained, "I see no reason not to talk to Hamas."

The essential history by Melanie Phillips spectator.co.uk

  • "In 1920, Great Britain was given the responsibility by the League of Nations to oversee the Mandate over the geographical territory known as Palestine with the express intention of reconstituting within its territory a Jewish National Home. The territory in question stretched from the Mediterranean Sea to the eastern boundary of Mandatory Palestine, which was a border that would separate it from what was to become the future state of Iraq.
  • In 1921, however, Churchill unilaterally gave away most of this territory to the Hashemite dynasty to create what later became known as Jordan.
  • It is only if the true history of the Middle East is understood that certain things become inescapably clear: the scale of the monumental lie that has been so assiduously promulgated about the nature of this dispute, a lie which is now generally assumed in the west to be true and which is driving the genocidal hysteria against Israel; the fact that the fundamental cause of this tragic impasse was the repeated British appeasement of Arab terror, illegality and injustice, a policy which continues to this very day; and the immorality and absurdity therefore of believing that today's 'two-state solution' which among other things means that the 'progressives' who support it thus support the ethnic cleansing of all Jews from the putative state of Palestine would be anything other than a Final Solution for the Jews of Israel, not to mention an incalculable victory for the forces waging war against the free world.

Why the Oslo Accords Should Be Abrogated by Israel : A Jurisprudential Memorandum for the New Prime Minister By Louis Rene Beres jewishindy.com

Taken by itself, the fact that the Oslo accords do not constitute authentic treaties under the Vienna Convention - because they link a state with a nonstate party - does not call for abrogation. But as the nonstate party in this case just happens to be a terrorist organization whose leaders must be punished for their egregious crimes, any agreement with this party that offers rewards rather than punishments is entirely null and void. Significantly, in view of the peremptory expectation known in law as Nullum crimen sine poena, "No crime without a punishment," the state party in such an agreement - here the State of Israel - violates international law by honoring the agreement.

According to Principle I of the binding Nuremberg Principles: "Any person who commits an act which constitutes a crime under international law is responsible therefore and liable to punishment." It is from this principle, which applies with particular relevance to Hostes humani generis ("Common enemies of humankind") and which originates in three separate passages of the Jewish Torah, that each state's obligation to seek out and prosecute terrorists derives. Hence, for Israel to honor agreements with terrorists - agreements that require, among other pertinent violations - the release of thousands of other terrorists - is to dishonor the very meaning of international law.

Prime Minister Netanyahu, please take heed. International law does not require compliance with the Oslo Accords. It requires abrogation of these illegal agreements.

Louis Rene Beres is Professor of International Law, Department of Political Science, Purdue University.

Afraid of Victory by Sarah Honig, Jerusalem Post

  • IN THESE PSYCHO-POLITICAL circumstances it would be very gutsy to aim to win instead of insecurely trying to conciliate an in-your-face uncooperative "peace partner."
  • We blabber about "occupation" without asking by which line Arabs demarcate areas where a sovereign Jewish existence might possibly be accepted. Is it the 1949 line? 1947? None at all? Does "occupation" refer only to territories we have held since 1967 or also where Jews settled in 1870?

From all of the above, one is left to wonder what the future of Israel is to be.  Has the power of 'oil' begun to change American politics? Is the subliminal pull of Islam upon President Obama taking root? Is '21st Century Political Correctness' going to steer America in a different direction? Or has America become so dreamy and 'starry eyed', that it is going to go where angels fear to tread?

Is it possible for people to be so caught up with 'idealism' that they simply cannot see the forest for the trees?

Political Correctness like so many fads of the last century has come under the power of 'The Law of Unintended Consequences'. You don't need me to explain that.  If you use your eyes and research all the ill effects of political correctness and unbridled multiculturalism, you will understand.

And therein lies the problem.

We don't want to understand!  We don't want to research! We don't want to see what is unpleasant! We just want to feel 'righteous'. As long as what you feed me makes me feel righteous, then all is well with the world. No matter how many people die!

As I quipped at the end of an article I wrote about the trauma of Operation Cast Lead, (When Israel recently went to war in Gaza)

  • Pro-Abortion rally at City Hall this Sunday 6pm.  Please bring a donation for all those traumatised children in Gaza.

I don't think any sentence spells out more clearly the hypocrisy of political correctness than does that one.

OK! There you have it!

Some views that don't fit the Politically Correct 'Blame the Jews for Everything' mentality.

But you are still free to think and believe what you will!
