China's Hardworking Honest Baotou Government Oficials

On May 5th I published an article entitled: E.E.T. Baotou: No Licence to Hire Foreigners: Providing dodgy Visas in which I wrote:

  • it is understood that there are measures currently being undertaken to bring EET Baotou and EET Shanghai to account for their actions in side stepping Chinese Employment laws.

I am happy to report that the Baotou Authorities have listened to Hu Jintao, and are acting honestly with transparency. Today, they dropped a bombshell on E.E.T. Baotou, requiring them to pay all monies due to an American Foreign Teacher who had been dealt with in a dishonest manner by EET Management. EET have promised to pay the money by Friday.

I cannot yet reveal what is currently transpiring between E.E.T. Shanghai franchiser Mr. David Gao and 'yours truly', but it is hoped that that school now understands that as they organised my paperwork to work in an illegal branch of their organisation, that they are responsible for the consequences.

I have been assured that should they not step up to the plate and negotiate a settlement with me, that the Shanghai authorities will step in if I make a formal complaint.

I have stated many times my faith in the Central Governments ongoing efforts to root out corruption, and in the article listed above wrote, 'Hu Jintao, the President of China, has for some time now, been demanding that members of the Communist Party and Government officials, perform their duties honestly and with transparency'. I am so pleased that my faith in Hu Jintao has been justified in this instance.

Post publication Update: Although I was employed at EET Baotou, with the Visa organised by EET Shanghai through the Shanghai Government, Baotou officials have told me that my formal complaints must be made in Shanghai.

I have advised EET Shanghai's Mr. Gao by email, of my complaints against his company, and he has never replied. So as to avoid any later complaint that I have never sent any advice, today, Wednesday, at 12.45pm {China time} May 12, 2010, I telephoned EET Shanghai and spoke to a receptionist.

She advised me that Gao Jiawei was not there, and then I asked for Mr. T. to whom copies of all correspondance was sent. He said that he had received copies of correspondance but did not read them because they were not addressed to him.

I informed him that I was merely calling so that it could not be said that I made no effort to contact EET Shanghai. I advised him that I would go to Shanghai FAO to lodge complaint on Tuesday 18th May, and that since Mr. Gao Jiawei was not there, it was up to the receptionist and Mr. T. [Mr. Gao's assistant and translater] to advise him that I called.

He advised me that he would not advise Mr. Gao that I had called and that I should speak to 'the people' involved. I told him that it is now known that I did call, and that was all I needed to do.

So now the question is: Will the Shanghai government be as willing to put a stop to the mistreatment of foreign teachers, by this Taiwan Boss and his company in China.

The outcome of this story: American Woman 'set up': Chinese Woman bashed.

Legal Outcome Feb 2011 of the bashing mentioned above.
