Australia My Country - A Poem

After reading several online articles this week involving Politically Correct outrage in Australia, I sat down and wrote the following poem, all the while wondering what Dorothea Mackellar would have written if she were still alive today.

Australia My Country - A Poem.

I loved a sunburnt country,
a land with little rain,
where everything is now PC
and people complain, complain, complain.

I loved her far horizons,
I loved her big wide seas,
her motto and her slogan
is now just 'Go PC.'

I loved her 'joie de vivre,'
I loved her 'we are free.'
But now my choice is either,
be punished or agree.

I miss that rugged country,
where life was sometimes tough,
where it was fine to disagree
but now I've had enough.

I want my freedom back again,
to hold my own opinions.
I'm tired of always being chained,
by all those PC minions.
