Arab Globalization vs Islamic War

Will there ever be any possibility of even a concrete hope for peace in the Middle East? According to former English Prime Minister Tony Blair, there is. In an article at Jerusalem Post today, Mr. Blair states that there are many Arab leaders who want their countries to enter 21st century globalization, and who see Peace in the Middle East as the key to achieving their goals. In this, they apparently are alleged to stand in opposition to the war mongering fundamentalists in Islam. It would be nice to believe the rhetoric. However, as I wrote in the article: Evolution and the Middle East

  • One wonders why it is that we sophisticated highly educated western luminaries, who preach so much about facts and science, and truthfulness and honesty, deliberately prefer fantasy to reality; deliberately prefer lies when the truth stands in opposition to our ideologies.

  • One is left incredulous that the bleeding hearts club fans simply cannot understand simple direct language; especially when that language stands in direct opposition to the bleeding hearts ideology. The simple fact is, and it is so often stated, that there can never be peace with Israel, (Hamas: We'll never recognize Israel) because the Muslim leadership hate Jews, and have every intention of taking back the land that never belonged to them in the first place.

Blair: Arab view of peace deal 'very close' to Israel's by David Horovitz (Jerusalem Post)

  • Blair. "I have a genuine belief, .. The Arabs genuinely want this settled now... Although Blair preferred not to identify which leaders he was referring to, he went on to speak about leaders in "Gulf and Arab states," and especially the younger leadership generation, who "want to be on the cutting edge of globalization; they want to be 21st century economies. And they realize their politics and their culture have got to start coming into synch with their economies." .....Blair described the Arab world as being "in transition." ... The would-be modernizers, he said, regard solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict "as an important part in making sure that their vision beats the other vision."

It is in fact quite easy to imagine that Blair is speaking the complete truth about these young Arab leaders, for I myself have met a number of Middle Eastern Arabs who find the whole Palestinian situation pointless and just want peace and prosperity. Unfortunately, it seems to me that there is a great gulf between the words 'Arab Leaders' and 'Palestinian Leaders'. As indicated in my article Egypt / Israel : What's in a name

Egypt has it's own problems controlling the Palestinians, and are quite happy to have Israel contain them, thus leaving the Egyptians without any blood on their hands.

  • The [Egyptian] minister accused the Palestinians of "provocations" at the border and warned that his country would not tolerate attacks on its troops.

Whilst it would be nice to think that the Region's Arab Leaders could bring about a long lasting and economically prosperous peace, every indication is that it will never happen, for as is so often stated by the Palestinians, they will never accept more than a temporary 'truce' with Israel. Palestinian Media Watch in it's January 24th 2008 Bulletin brought to light that despite all the overtures of peace in Palestine, Palestinian officialdom is still brainwashing young children into 'hatred' of Israel in anticipation of it's destruction.

  • The goal of this music video clip is to inculcate loathing of Israel and anticipation of its destruction. The repeated broadcast over recent months by Fatah-controlled television is consistent with other Arabic-language hate messages currently being disseminated -- in spite of the peace talks. ...PA TV first aired this music video in 2004 and resumed its broadcast in October, 2007. It was broadcast throughout the Annapolis conference as well as during President Bush's visit to Israel. It continues to be aired on almost a daily basis.

Since 1948, the only Arab Nation in the Region that has shown any continuous commonsense and leadership has been Jordan, but that country too has a problem with it's Palestinian population, a problem that could be solved by making them all citizens. Whilst Egypt has for many years had a treaty with Israel, it too had turned a blind eye to Palestinian Terrorism until that terrorism threatened to spill over into Egypt itself.

There is only one thing that is certain in the Middle East today, and that is that nothing is certain. The last 60 years of bloodshed have basically been for nothing, given that had the Arabs never attacked the Jews in Israel, the Palestinians today would have more land than they are currently asking for, and most probably an economically prosperous country to boot.

After 60 years of failing to crush Israel, and within a world that has changed dramatically since 1948, it is no longer a viable option for the Arab world to go to war with Israel based simply upon the premise that they shouldn't be there. But perhaps they should go to war - only this time, let's leave the chips lay where they fall.

Ultimate Peace or Ultimate Death! That is what's needed - for what currently exists in the Middle East between these two flagpoles, is just a living hell for everyone in the region. Politics and Religion have their place, but in the end, they are just games that megalomaniacs play.

May the people have true peace, and be free to worship at the altar of their god - including the altar of Mammon.
