Do you have questions about the nation's largest landowning company, Plum Creek, and its plans to build the largest development in Maine history? Do you have experiences, photos, or documents you want to share?

Everyone is encouraged to come to the Public Hearing on Plum Creek's plans that is being held by the Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) on Saturday, January 19th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Hearing will be at Greenville High School on 130 Pritham Ave.

People who want to speak before LURC may begin arriving between 9 and 10 a.m. to sign up. Speakers will be limited to three minutes each. You can bring articles, photos, and other documents to give to LURC, and that information will be entered into the Public Record that LURC has to consider when making this decision.

If you can't make the hearing, you can send comments and documents to the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission, 22 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0022, or e-mail LURC@maine.gov. For more info, visit the LURC website at www.maine.gov/doc/lurc/reference/resourceplans/moosehead.html

There are also Intervenor group hearings taking place throughout January. These hearings are where organizations that have submitted group testimony to LURC on various issues concerning Plum Creek's plan, such as its effects on cost of living, water, waste generation, roads, fish, and wildlife, are able to present their information, cross examine Plum Creek's witnesses, and speak about their concerns.

The Public is welcome to attend Intervenor Group Hearings, which can be very informative. Intevenor hearings will take place from 8:30AM to 5:30 PM on January 14 through 18, and January 22 through 25, at the St. Paul Center,136 State Street, Augusta.

Both the Public Hearings and Intevenor Hearings are broadcast live online at: www.maine.gov/doc/lurc/webcast.html, and written transcripts are at ftp://ftp.state.me.us/outgoing/PlumCreek/LURC_HearingTranscripts
