GREENVILLE -- The Maine Woods Coalition's 2008 Annual Meeting was held at DKB Catering in Greenville on October 2.

Members elected to the Steering Committee include Bill Boisvert, Greenville/Weare, New Hampshire; Eugene Conlogue, Millinocket; Tom McCormick, Greenville; Kathleen MacKenzie, Jackman; and Thomas Roberts, Greenville.

Officers elected were: Anne Mitchell, Chairwoman and President; Eugene Conlogue, Vice Chairman and Vice President; Reuben "Benny" Lumbra, Secretary; and Mitchell Duncan, Treasurer.

The featured guest speaker was Patrick J. Strauch, Executive Director of the Maine Forest Products Council, who gave a presentation on his organization's membership, activities, and the issues of concern to the forest industry and northern Maine.

The Maine Woods Coalition originally organized to oppose the creation of a federal park in Maine's north woods, and works to promote private property rights, forest industries, and traditional access to the Maine woods for recreation. For more information please visit www.mainewoodscoalition.org.
