Families and friends looking to enjoy everything camping has to offer without all the hassle can now "glamour camp" at Darien Lake. On June 28, the park began offering instant "glamping" sites for visitors, which let guests camp without roughing it.

Glampsites at Darien Lake feature ready-made, waterproof tents on 10-foot by 14-foot platforms, complete with a comfortable queen bed or two twin beds, two chairs and a table, so campers won't have the expense of buying gear or the hassle of setting up camp. Each glamping tent is large enough to sleep two adults and two children, and campsites come with picnic tables, fire rings, electricity for basic needs and a deck for relaxation. Glampers simply need to bring their own linens, sleeping bags, pillows, and air mattresses for the kids.

"Glamping at Darien Lake provides another way for families and friends to have a simple, no-fuss getaway, and it is affordable for novice campers to try camping for the first time," said Dennis Kohl, general director of accommodations, Darien Lake. "These new glamping tents will help our guests skip the trouble of setting up a camp site -- they are perfect for those who want to instantly camp without roughing it."

Darien Lake's glamping tents are being provided by ConTENTment Camping of Buffalo, N.Y. Company founder Pat Jensen said, "The best part about camping is enjoying the outdoors, sleeping in a tent, gathering around the campfire and feeling part of the natural setting. The worst part of camping is ‘schlepping' all of the equipment and sleeping uncomfortably on the ground. Our new instant camping takes you to a whole new level of fun and relaxation."

The glamour camping sites bolster Darien Lake's existing camping offerings, which include 650 campsites, 57 modern cabins and 283 furnished RV campsites, and an on-site camp store with a range of necessities and food items. All accommodations are just a short walk to the park. To make reservations, visit www.StayDarienLake.com.

About Darien Lake

Darien Lake's wide variety of entertainment has made it "destination fun" since 1964. Located 45 minutes from Niagara Falls between Buffalo and Rochester, N.Y., today the park boasts more than 45 rides, including six world-class roller coasters; dozens of family rides; several world-class entertainment shows right in the park; the region's largest water park complete with wave pool; and a 20,000-seat performing arts center, operated by Live Nation, that hosts some of the hottest music artists. The park is open May to October, and welcomes overnight guests in a wide range of accommodations -- from a full-service hotel and modern cabins to rental RVs, and RV and tent campsites.
