MILLINOCKET -- Jeanette T. Burby, 79, wife for 63 years to George Burby Sr., died peacefully Sunday, February 25, 2007, with her family by her side, at a Millinocket hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 17, 1928, in St. Francis, the daughter of Dennis and Second (Jandreau) Baker.
In addition to her husband, George of Millinocket, she is survived by five daughters: Diana Mitchell of Florida, Jeanette T. Willey of Connecticut, Carol Pagnozzi and her husband, Gary, of Connecticut, Helen "Lynn" Belair and her husband, Raymond, of Connecticut, and Anne Marie Demers and her husband, Michael, of Virginia; one son, George Burby Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Portage Lake; a sister, Verona Shiloh of Patten; a brother, Dan Baker of Patten; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeanette will also be missed by a special friend, Mabel Stadig.
She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers: Francis, Willard and Donald Baker; and three sisters: Ida, Edna and Violet.
Jeanette's family expresses their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Millinocket Regional Hospital for their love, support and tender care given to Jeanette during the past three months.
Friends are invited to visit with the family between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bouchard - Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Avenue, Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
