James A. Daisey

MILLINOCKET -- James A. Daisey, 65, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at a Millinocket hospital. He was born July 3, 1941, in Millinocket, the son of Arnold R. and Ruth (Zimmerman) Daisey.

James was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1959. After serving in the U.S. Army for three years, he returned to Millinocket, where he worked for Great Northern Paper Company, for 38 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed fly-fishing at camp on Sourdnahunk Lake. James also loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He leaves behind his beloved sons: George R. Daisey and his wife, Tricia, of Gray and James W. Daisey of Millinocket; four grandchildren, twins, Hayden and Marina Daisey and Ethan Daisey, all of Gray and Kaitlyn Daisey of Millinocket; eight sisters: Mary Maragus, Pat McAvoy, Carole Daisey and Charlotte Bernier, all of Millinocket, Virginia Hastings of New Hampshire, Marjorie Noyes of Florida, Janis McQuade of Massachusetts, and Joanne Tapley of Grindstone; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence Daisey; and brothers: George, Arnold Charles and William Daisey.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Millinocket Cemetery with Deacon Robert Landry officiating. Gifts in memory of James may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field Street, Millinocket, ME 04462. Arrangements are by Bouchard-Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
