Magic City Morning Star 'Pro-Levesque' Campaign?

As regular readers of Magic City Morning Star News are aware, the Editor Ken Anderson has been 'on leave' for a number of months now, and I have been doing my best to fill his editorial shoes.

Last week I received an email from a regular reader who asked why it was that Magic City is running 'Levesque' Political advertising, while not publishing the political columns at Magic City; Michael Michaud's political column in particular. That person also directed me to some web comments on the issue. The website was highly critical of this newspaper's Editor and his wife.

So let me start by saying that the answer to why the political material at Magic City is currently all one sided, is quite simple.

The Levesque campaign is sending material for publication and it is being published.

The Michaud Campaigners are not!

As an Australian, I have no interest in American Politics or its process and Ken Anderson has always made Magic City Morning Star News available to all sides on any issue. So there is nothing untoward going on in relation to what is and what is not being published as far as Maine political matters are concerned.

If organisations or individuals want something published, then all they have to do is send it to me at the email below, and I will publish it. Perhaps the Editor might be more discerning and discriminating, but I have no personal knowledge of Maine State Politics or Society, and so I will just publish what is sent in.

I did send an email to the Michaud Campaigners, but they did not reply. Obviously they are still sending emails to the Editor, completely unaware that he is not Editing the Newspaper at the moment. (Footnote Update!)

As for those feral types who apparently inhabit some places in Maine USA, who seem to completely abhor the community's right to access a variety of opinions, and who seem to think that no opinions other than their own have a right to be aired in the Media, may I just say, that the last time I checked, Maine was somewhere on the east coast of the United States of America, and not in 'The People's Republic of China'.

If you don't like Ken Anderson, or you don't like me, or you don't like various writers at Magic City Morning Star News, and you don't like what you read there, then grow a brain and stop upsetting yourself by reading the newspaper. It really is that simple.

It costs money to keep Magic City Morning Star running, and you get to read it all for free. 'Free Press' - funny concept that. Wherever did they come up with such an idea.

Magic City Morning Star News lacks a lot of local content for sure. But it does have some interesting material to read, consider and ponder. And given how easy it is to get published in this newspaper ['JUST ANYONE' can write for it don't you know], I am surprised more locals don't make their voice heard on a variety of local issues.

That's all just my opinion of course. What would I know about community service in Maine USA. I live in China and SPEND money to keep the newspaper running. Then again, I am selfish. I just like to see my name in the paper.

And doesn't that door swing both ways!

Ed Gilman the Communications Director for Congressman Mike Michaud has been in contact and will send the Congressman's articles for publication.
