"abduction of innocent girls shows just how truly despicable these militants are"

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Mike Michaud is sharing his support of H. Res. 573, a resolution condemning the abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria by the Boko Haram terrorist organization. The group abducted the girls over a month ago and is refusing to free them unless the Nigerian government releases Boko Haram terrorists currently imprisoned.

"The Boko Haram terrorist organization has unleashed a great deal of death and destruction across Nigeria, and their abduction of innocent girls shows just how truly despicable these militants are," said Michaud. "I'm proud to stand with my colleagues in sending a strong message that children should never, ever be used as pawns of any kind. It's time for Boko Haram to bring back our girls."
