WASHINGTON, DC -- Congressman Mike Michaud praised the announcement that the New Vineyard Public Library has been awarded a $22,400 USDA Rural Development Community Facility Grant to expand offerings and improve a meeting space for residents.

"USDA Rural Development provides critical investments that help strengthen communities throughout our state," said Michaud. "The facility improvements made possible with this funding will provide a great gathering place for the community and benefit New Vineyard residents for years to come."

According to USDA Rural Development, funds will be used to purchase additional furnishings and equipment to help expand the library's offerings. Earlier this year the library was awarded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Rural Development Grants to build an addition on to the existing building, install a new septic system and well, and address ADA accessibility issues. This funding will purchase needed equipment and furniture to offer additional educational and literary services as well as furnish a meeting space for the residents of the community.
