The Christian Civic League of Maine is guilty. We did it again. We
told the truth.
A couple weeks ago we wrote about the fact that the radical pro homosexual
group that misnamed itself "Equality Maine" (committed to booting the Boy Scouts
of America out of your local public school, by the way) held a fund raising
banquet in Portland that was supported financially and officially and publicly
by otherwise helpful groups and businesses like the American Cancer
Society, Norway Savings Bank, Verizon and Hannaford Brothers Grocery Stores.
Equality Maine took down their webpage proudly advertising their banquet
three days after we wrote about it. We saved it and put it up on our
website. You can view it here.
Rather than take responsibility for making a mistake in offering public and
financial support to a group that hates the Boy Scouts of America the American
Cancer Society decided to attack the League publicly yesterday in front of the
Legislature's Judiciary Committee. Read about the hearing here. The
spokesperson for the Society said that Mike Heath and the League have "targeted"
them. Ominous.
The truth has targeted them. The fact is they publicly endorsed a group
that exists to promote the "queer" (their word) lifestyle among our kids and
grandkids. The League is used to being "targeted" by the politically
correct in Maine, so the American Cancer Society's complaint is
water-off-a-ducks-back to us.
Our counsel -- not that they are listening to us (obviously) -- is for these
helpful groups to get back on mission. Norway Savings Bank should get back
to banking and get out of the "sexual orientation" business. The American
Cancer Society should work on finding a cure for cancer, rather than nurture the
moral tumor of homosexuality in our culture. Hannaford should continue to
nourish our bodies without working to destroy our souls.
