What an amazing weekend full of energy and excitement we experienced at the Republican Convention in Portland, Maine. Approximately 2000 people showed up to learn about the candidates running for various offices across the state. It was great to talk with so many of you and listen to what you are looking for in a leader, and what you want to see happen in this state and country.
I spoke on Friday and laid out the reasons I am running. You can CLICK HERE to watch my convention speech.
"My wife Tracey and I teach our children that they must do well in school, work hard, clean their rooms and eat their vegetables. We also teach them to be honest, to never do anything that hurts other people, and to always listen to other's thoughts-they just might have something worth hearing.
I also teach them to respect authority. So, tell me--when the very authority I'm telling them to respect goes against everything else I teach them, how do I reconcile that?"-Jason Levesque Convention Speech, May, 2010
I believe Congress is not honest with us, is not transparent and certainly doesn't listen to us. I found on Friday, that many of the folks there agreed with me.
We need people in Washington who will listen when we say no to increased, spending, a trillion dollar health care reform debacle and an unnecessary Enery Tax that will hurt all Mainers.
We were able to get some good news coverage from the event as well. Click the picture below to read an article from the Lewiston Sun Journal.
What I learned most from the event is that Maine is ready for new leadership at every level and the People are willing to work for this change.
Will you stand with me today? Will you stand with me November 2nd?
If yes, please help my campaign by signing up to volunteer or making a much needed donation. We need to purchase signs, and advertisement and your donation will go directly to getting our message to the people. You can do so by going to my brand new website at www.levesqueforcongress.com.
We all witnessed what happened in New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts the last few months. I believe if it can happen there, it can happen here-and, with your help it will.
