It's Official: Levesque on the Ballot
Submits Signatures From Every District 2 County

Auburn, Maine - Nearly eight months after announcing his campaign for Congress, Jason Levesque made it official today delivering more than the required number of signatures to the Secretary of States office in Augusta. Levesque submitted 1,114 signatures that came from 124 towns in all 10 counties of District 2-which is the largest geographical district east of the Mississippi. This officially qualifies Jason for the ballot in the June 8th primary.

"This is an exciting step. I've been campaigning around the District for nearly eight months now and have truly enjoyed the opportunity to speak to my fellow Mainers. This is the next big step toward bringing some fiscal sanity to Congress and hopefully jobs home to Maine," Levesque said. Jason also commented, "Out of the 1100 plus signatures we turned in, not one of them was rejected...this should illustrate to the people of Maine how hard my staff and I will work to ensure accuracy and accountability in Washington."

Today Congressional democrats cancelled all hearings and activities in order to meet to negotiate the health care legislation in time to vote before the arbitrary Presidential deadline of March 18.

"Yet again, the debate over health care has been pushed behind closed doors. Mike Michaud is scheduled to return home for Spring District Work Period on March 29th. If he truly represents the people over the partisanship, he'll come out from the secret negotiation room, and come home and hold a Town Hall before casting any vote," Levesque said.
