Did you know that, unless this Congress takes action, Maine's Second Congressional District is just months away from seeing its families hammered with an average tax hike of nearly $1,300?! I unequivocally oppose putting this tax burden on Maine's families and small businesses, particularly during an extended recession. My opponent, on the other hand, wants to saddle you with a tax hike. Afflicting pain on struggling families is not the sort of representation we need in Maine. Please tell my opponent to start supporting Maine families and oppose an enormous tax hike. And please support my campaign to bring real representation to Maine's Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Excitement is building on the campaign trail!
Thousands turned out for the annual Wilton Blueberry Festival. I marched in the parade, along with Senator Collins, numerous State Senate and House candidates, and an army of supporters shaking hands, waving signs, and listening their concerns. Afterward, I drove to Lewiston for supper with Friends of the National Rifle Association.
Tammy and Bob Brown generously opened their Hampden home and hosted a successful reception and fundraiser. I had the opportunity and pleasure to speak one on one with nearly fifty Mainers concerned about the state's and the country's future. The Bangor Daily News was there covering the scene as well. I would be truly grateful if you would be interested in hosting an event. While my opponent relies on big checks from national PACs, I have been working hard to earn support and contributions from people in Maine. I'm continuing my 'Maine' Streets for America walking tour around the district. I was in Bethel with State Representatives Sawin Millett and Jarrod Crocket, touring many downtown and area businesses. Today, I visited Turner, Buckfield and Norway. I walked through Ellsworth and Belfast before heading to the Skowhegan Fair's Tribute to Troops.
Throughout my 'Maine' Street walks and meetings, I have been encouraged by Mainers getting so active and making their voices heard. Let's keep it up. We are continuing to build momentum, and we're going to send a strong message on November 2nd. Please join me when I'm in your area! To RSVP to an event, you can click here.
