My Goodwill Rocking Chair
I used to be young like you
He said to me one day
Babies used to sit on me
And they'd laugh and play...
I've been in so many homes
How many I don't know
And I get a real sad feeling
When It's time for me to go...
I've known so many people
Some bad and some so good
Just what the difference is
I've never really understood...
I know my paint is chipped and worn
And my bones are showing through
Oh please accept me as I am
Of this I'm begging you...
Now you've placed me in this corner
Near a window all alone
Do you mean to tell me
That I've finally found a home...
