For My Family

The day was filled with dust and fear
As I stumbled down the stairs
I heard prayers all around me
And I joined my voice to theirs...

I felt the thick walls shake and sag
And the stairs begin to fall
My body fell I know not where
And darkness covered all...

I landed in a dark abyss
And a voice called out my name
I felt myself lifted up
And made whole once again...

The darkness began to fade away
Banished by a heavenly face
An Angel took my hand
And led me from that terrible place...

I know your heart is breaking
And I can see your pain
But I just want to tell you
That you'll see my face again...

I know it's hard to carry on
Without me by your side
But God had other plans for me
And that is why I died...
