Peddler's Hill

Millinocket Community Action Committee's proposal for Peddlers' Hill which the Millinocket Town Council received was the result of extensive research into farmers' markets around the New England states.

The intent in coming up with this proposal, as the council was told upon their receipt of it, was to bring ideas to the council with hopes that it would be the catalyst for the town council to allow a meeting of the minds between town government and interested citizens.

The proposal given to the council was hoped to be a basis for discussion between the two groups from which they could add ideas that they approved of and remove those they did not.

MCAC's intentions for Peddlers' Hill has always - and will always - be about revitalization and improvement to the town, with input and cooperation from any and all interested citizens along with town government.

We have no stake in this proposed project other than offering research and ideas from which a plan could evolve and formulate.

MCAC hopes to be a part of the planning of this project, but this is something that, if it happens, it will be owned by the town, on town leased land, and administered by the town.

Our interest is only in seeing something positive happen with this area that will benefit the town and possibly give some citizens an opportunity to have an affordable venue to earn some income.

MCAC members are hoping to see the council approve a plan to revitalize this area so that we may then begin fundraising efforts for it.

We then hope to see a true community effort to bring revitalization and eye appeal to Peddlers' Hill and we hope to be the first in line to volunteer our services to assist with any aspect of the revitalization we can.
