A Reason to Give Thanks

In a unanimous vote, the Millinocket Town Council granted the Historical Society a five-year extension to repay the town for its new location. Current fundraising efforts have produced more than half of the current obligation, but as time passed the deadline to repay the towns generosity drew nearer and nearer.

Over the past two years, the Society has raised thousands from yard sales, book & calendar sales, a dinner and breakfast and is looking towards many more functions. While these are great staples of ongoing community efforts, much thanks should be extended to the donors, artifact contributors, as well as both the Margaret Burnham & Davis Family Foundation for their generosity. There is additional appreciation to those members that contributed their time and hard work toward our museum home.

The Millinocket Historical Society deeply appreciates this assistance from the town council and wishes everyone a happy holiday season.
