The Editor,
To the "Reader Offended by Tellis,
Reading the stories from way back April 6, 2008, one may assume that Mr. Anderson is not familiar with what goes on in Canada, particularly Quebec, historically.
For many Canadians there are two types of residents from Quebec, the ordinary Quebecer and the fanatic Quebecois, the builders of a unilingual French province and the power behind the isolation of many, including English speaking residents of Quebec. Their claim to supremacy, calling it distinct, is the foundation of many opposing views, from
within and the Rest of Canada, regularly called "The ROC".
Unfortunate, since the Canadian Federal Government, because of size of population, depends on the number of votes from Quebec to form a majority Government and for that reason often go out of their way to patronize, verbally and by using tax-payers money. This division was started in the 1960s by a small group and carried forward in 1969 by the than Prime Minister P.E.Trudeau in creating the 1969 Bilingual law in which French and English have been declared the official languages of Canada, which is only enforced in English Canada.
The Canadian people have never been consulted. Here you have the basics of Canadian history and the different views about the people of Quebec.

Editor's Note: Mr. Booiaman, I have a hard enough of a time understanding what's going on in my own country, let alone Canada; although I do find it interesting. Nevertheless, for the purposes of publication, it's not important that I understand the articles that I am publishing since we are quite willing to publish both sides here, and we're not overly afraid of being offensive. -- Ken Anderson
