Apparently bin Laden was allowed to live free of discovery in his Abbottabad compound for six years. Shocking, say outraged Americans and anti-terror experts.
Add the following to the Silver Lining Theory of History: the fact that he had been allowed to live there unmolested for so long contributed to bin Laden's complacence, re-enforcing his delusional sense of invincibility, which in turn resulted in the accumulation of a mother load of intelligence material and the absence of explosive vests and the means to destroy this intelligence.
If this treasure-trove of information, described as the size of a small college library, turns out to be as valuable as it looks, it will spell the end of al Qaeda.
I believe al Qaeda is finished. The entire network will be rolled up or will collapse in the wake of the Mideastern spring. We won't see another major terror incident in this decade or in this century.
