Cemetery Vandalism Rising in Connecticut

If you think people have no respect for each other when we are alive, then you should visit your local cemetery. Can there be a more unprotected place? It is a gut wrenching feeling to visit your loved ones and to find vandals have left their mark. Broken statues, some over one hundred years old! In my City of Bridgeport Ct. it is running rampant. I for one am now hunting; yes I said it, "hunting" these vandals at night with a camera. No one else seems to care, or at the very least, they don't know what to do about it. If it's reported to the police, I personally haven't seen any halt to it.

We should have an apprehended vandal, if caught pay for all the vandalism that has been done up to that point. If the vandal is underage - what is a minor doing in a cemetery at night? If that's the case make the parents pay for the damage. It's gotten to the point that I can see recent vandalism compared to old. Being buried in a Bridgeport cemetery is not worth the money. No one can protect the dead from the living. Thanks to these empty soul idiots I'm going for cremation.

I travel all over the country for my job, and I have visited cemeteries everywhere. The Tri-State has the worst cases of cemetery vandalism anywhere. But none of the Tri -States has it as bad as Bridgeport CT. This is something that I know. I have the pictures to prove it. It makes me ashamed to say I don't want to be buried in my own hometown. Add to this dilemma the fact that you will now find evidence of Voodoo in cemeteries. Voodoo! You can come across chicken body parts and dolls and seashells and assorted paraphernalia. Hey do us mourners a favor and do your "church" business in the "church". Please.

Sick to my stomach,
Sincerely,

John Rizzo
