I was just reading your article, Australia's Racist Shame: Or is it?
It was very interesting and very accurate in the way it explained how we feel here at the moment. Well the bad news is the riots are again going on as I write this. Car loads of Middle eastern youths have descended on Maroubra, Caringbah and Brighton le-Sands. Taking to vehicles, shops and homes with Baseball bats and metal bars.
All these places are beautiful beach side suburbs where normal every day families live. A very large part of the attacks tonight have been against people who had nothing to do with Sundays altercation in Cronulla (some 30 Kilometres from tonight's attacks).
No one should be attacked because of their race or religion but what kind of attack are we under when we are told that a nativity scene can not appear in a shopping mall because it may offend someone. Who are these people telling me that we can not display a picture of Jesus or a cross in a school because it is not being considerate to other religions.
What the bloody hell is going on when I am told that a muslim child at our local school would be wearing a head scarf due to religious reasons but we are told "I'm sorry but a picture of the Virgin Mary may offend".
National day of shame....I don't think so, sport.
