The former Liberal government of Ontario, under premier Dalton Patrick McGuinty had been playing fast and loose with the rights of English-speaking residents of Ontario, and he like David Peterson a Liberal predecessor is attempting to make Ontario a bilingual province by stealth.
The province of Ontario has an English-speaking majority of 96% and a 4% minority of Franco-Amerindians (Ontariens), and for too long have been given a status far beyond their their numbers warrant. Madeleine Meilleur a Kebecoise (Franco-Amerindian) was made a minister of Joullophone Affairs by premier Dalton McGuinty. Meilleur who hails from Kebec originally worked to have the English-language removed as official language in that Province. But on moving to Ontario, began demanding all sorts of privileges for her Joual language (French patois) in Ontario.
At the present time Madeleine Meilleur is busy working on a plan to have Ontario recognize immigrants coming to English-speaking Ontario, Canada from former French colonies like Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and other places who have not been educated in French patois in Canada as Jouallophones recognized as being educated in Canada as pseudo Francos and having the right to attend Joual language schools in English- speaking Canada. She has even gone one step further by asking that they be included as part of the Canadien population, which if carried out would change demographics by another 50,000 people. Meilleur pushes for bilingualism in Ontario which has 4% canadienne population and her claims are quite fanatical in that she believes like most Franco-Amerindians an even Justin Trudeau that the joualophone is superior to English-speaking Canadian.
Meilleur as a Kebecoise has never supported the idea of bilingualism in Kebec, yet she wants bilingualism in Ontario, so that she and her Franco-Amerindian crowd would get all the plum jobs if Ontario was to be declared bilingual. So, really she does not believe in bilingualism, but only in the advantages that comes with it when applied to all Ontariens.
Like all Franco-Amerindians Meilleur while wanting all people from former French colonies to be able to attend Joual-language (French patios) schools in Ontario, yet does not believe that it should apply to children who come to Kebec from former British colonies, in that they be allowed to attend English- language schools in Kebec. Remember like a true Franco-Amerindian most of those who claim that they want bilingualism, really do not care much about the rights denied English-Speaking Canadians in Kebec.
Thus all immigrants to Canada should be treated the same. If Kebec denies the right of the children of English-speaking immigrants from the U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, or any other English-speaking country to attend an English-language school in Kebec. And are forced to attend a Joual language (French patois) school in Kebec, then it stands to reason that all immigrants arriving in an English-speaking province in Canada be forced to attend an English language school, even if the hail from France or a former French colony, and should be given no privileges at all.
To begin with why does Ontario with a 4% Franco-Amerindian population need a Minister of Franco- Amerindian Affairs, like Madeleine Meilleur, when Kebec which has a 18% English-speaking English- population has no Minister of English-speaking affairs Thus a 18% English-speaking population in Kebec has no representation, while a 4% Franco-Amerindian population in Ontario does. So, it might be a good for Ontario to scrap the idea of a Minister of Franco-Amerindian Affairs altogether.
To be fair, If Ontario has an Franco-Amerindian population of 4% why on earth should it have a Minister representing them, when Kebec with an18% English-speaking population has none and save the Ontario Taxpayer money.
In Kebec there are no English Hospitals per se. Kebec has Joual Only Hospitals and bilingual hospitals (which for convenience sake are called English Hospitals. But in Ontario, there is now a MEDICAL CENTRE in Cornwall that is only for Franco-Amerindians, because it operates ONLY in Joual (French patois). Then of course there is the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa, which is run by Franco-Amerindians and supposedly the only Joual Hospital in Ontario.
Now I would like to bring up the issue of Kebec Construction Workers crossing into Ontario and working, whilst Ontario Construction Workers are not permitted to cross into and work because there are Kebec laws that ban them from doing so. Here again Kebec is taking mean advantage of Ontario's lax laws in the Construction Industry, which permits Kebec to exploit us. Thus it is time to get tough with Kebec on this issue immediately.
But, we have to keep our eyes open to see what is really going on in the Ontario Job Market, when even in the Federal Public Service, and cities along the Ontario-Kebec border, including Ottawa, hire people residing in Hull, and other areas in who cross the border every morning to get to their jibs in Ottawa, and other places in Ontario and these people do not have to pay any INCOME TAX or any other TAXES in Ontario where they are employed, but only in Kebec.
Finally, it is time for Ontario to institute laws equivalent to Kebec's Bill 101, and demand that English is given prominence in the same way as Joual (French patois) is given prominence in Kebec. But Ontario should borrow a leaf from Kebec's Language Laws on the issue of schooling, requiring that all IMMIGRANTS arriving in Ontario with children have their children enrolled in an English Language school. Those IMMIGRANTS coming to Ontario from France or French-speaking countries including former French colonies should not be permitted to send their children to Joual-Language schools in Ontario, and must be forced to attend English-Language Schools in Ontario, just as all IMMIGRANTS in Kebec are forced to attend Joual-Language Schools there That all SCHOOL signage in Ontario be in ENGLISH ONLY, just as required by the Law in Kebec which requires them to be in JOUAL ONLY.
