What's not really French about the so-called French!

Let us take a good look at what the French claim as theirs.

First of all we must question the name of the country and its origins. The very name FRANCE has Germanic origins, since it was dubbed on the country by the FRANKISH king Karl der Gross. Who was the king of the FRANKS a Germanic tribe who were conquerors of Gaul, the real name of FRANCE. Of course Karl der Gross became Charlemagne when he became the first Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.

Now on the language called French. The source of this languages very name came from what the Franks of the Holy Roman Empire called LINGUA FRANCA. Which was a colloquial used by the people of Gaul, a Gaelic-speaking tribe that inhabited the area. The Gaulois spoke an admixture of Latin, Gaulois (a Gaelic language), and Frankish (a Germanic dialect). So any claim to French being a pure language has been hoisted as a historical falsehood.

Now to go down the road of history and clarify where the Fleur-de-Lis (Iris) symbol came from. The Venetian Republic, being very Catholic wanted to symbolize that fact and designed the FLEUR -DE-LIS , because it symbolized by its very colour, WHITE, the purity of Jesus Christ, the French monarchs being Roman Catholic seeing this symbol of Jesus Christ decided that they too would adopt it as their own. Thus the Fleur-de-Lis of the Venetian Republic became a borrowed symbol of FRANCE.

It is only befitting that finally many in France have come to accept ENGLISH as the present day Lingua Franca, which has replaced French in the International sphere.

Thus, French is the language of France, Joual the language of the Kebecois a Metis people who reside in the province of Kebec, Canada, and ENGLISH has become the Lingua Franca of the WORLD.
