In an attempt to get support and publicity the Cap sur l'independence , which means ROUTE to independence, which also includes several groups of Quebecois separatists, celebrated a march on May 23, 2011, commemorating the IRISH Patriotes in Quebec who fought the Family Compact and raised their tri-coloured flag of Green, White and Red, to which these modern day Metis pseudo-separatist groups have no claim.
The Irish were mainly immigrants that had come to Lower Canada in search for a better life, and the Family Compact reminded them of the problems that were taking place in their homeland under the Castle Catholics. Thus the Irish were not fighting to create a nation, but seeking a measure justice. Of course the Canadiens or Metis of that period did not have a clue of what was happening in Ireland at that juncture in history.
In order to gain publicity the Canadiens/Metis joined the Irish Patriotes and then claimed all the credit for the Patriote movement in Lower Canada. It is quite clear how the Canadiens were going to use the Irish for their own political ends, and then make out that they did all the fighting during the rebellion of 1837-38, even though they did not do much in the way of fighting as the IRISH.
But in this coalition are people like Gilbert Paquette and Catherine Dorion both who have no idea of the Irish struggle against the Family Compact in 1837-38. But that is to be expected, since, these people are Quebecois/Quebecoise who are the descendants of the Canadiens/Metis of the period the 1837-38 Rebellion in Lower Canada(now Quebec).
Then comes the clincher, Catherine Dorion is convinced that sovereignty is the best idea for Quebec, even though the Bloc Quebecois a partner in the Quebecois independence movement was trounced in the May 2, 2011, Federal Election, proving that these misfits of the Quebec independence coalition are in left field, and still stuck in the time warp of 1837, and are therefore people without a paddle for their CANOE.
But the groups spokesperson one Catherine Dorion goes one step further into the realm of INSANITY, by saying : "Quebec is one of the places in the world where minority rights are the most respected," what she really meant was disrespected. Because Quebec is the ONLY place in the world where there are laws that outlaw English, the national language of CANADA, with Bill 101, and other Bills that make it a PUNISHABLE offence for a person to use it publicly. Especially so, when QUEBEC is a province of Canada, and NOT an independent country, which they falsely assume it is at present.
There is no point in arguing with these imbeciles, as they continue to live with illusions and avoid reality at any cost. In a NUT-SHELL, they are now dreaming in COLOUR.
Of course history has proven that the Quebecois are a Metis people in the main, and do not have any legal claim to being French or having any territorial claims whatsoever. Thus the motto of Quebec: "Je me souviens" (I remember) really means that while their forefathers were indeed French, their foremothers were Aboriginal women, and thus they are really a Metis people, who NOW falsely lay claim to being French or French-Canadiens .
