A few days ago while I watched the funeral ceremony of Sgt. Ryan Russell and couldn't help but feel the sorrow for his loss to his son Nolan and his wife Christinet. One should even not try to compare the daily danger that a police officer puts his life on the line, that an ordinary person does not.
The job of a police officer is a thankless one at best, so I do not question the way that Sgt. Ryan Russell was honoured by the TPS and all the other Canadian police forces.
My son Louis-Joseph Tellis a TPS officer, who served on TAVIS died exactly three years ago to date (January 21, 2008). I am very glad as a father to have been able to talk to my son while he was alive, and regret that he died at 36-years of age, was never married and was lookibg forward to a bright future with the TPS.
Sincerely,
Kenneth T. Tellis
