- He that lives upon hope will die fasting!
The above words were written by that grand old revolutionary Benjamin Franklin in 1758, but they nevertheless have a bearing even in our present time.
I daily read what some mindless individuals write and attempt to pass off as prose, but the tedium of having to read such inane drivel really bores me.
Some of these individuals have never done anything or achieved anything in their lives, yet attempt to find fault with anything that you write, and then have the gall to advise you. Because they are somehow of the opinion that you are writing it for them when nothing could be further than that.
Most of these critics are not people of any substance, but spend most their time in criticizing others while doing absolutely nothing themselves. Of course there has to be a reason for this attitude, but they do not make that evident.
What makes them really mad is when you are exposing their fair city or province to public ridicule. Mentally they have never left the city that they once called home, but in their mindset, that is a blow to the place that they once called home, which is still part of their person. But that very attitude can best be explained, because they cannot come to terms with their present situation. Of course they remind me of the Vichyites of France, during the German occupation, who willingly colluded with their German occupiers, hoping to get better treatment from them. But they avoided facing the reality of their situation and lived upon hopes and naught else.
I left Montreal, Kebec on July 1, 1992, and never for a moment looked back, because I knew that nothing would ever change for the better, as the Franco-Amerindians had a fixation that they were now going to turn history on its head and make it as hard as possible for anyone who was not of their tribe. But whether they like it or not, the Franco-Amerindian does not constitute a RACE, because they are a HYBRID people, in a manner of speaking similar to the MULE. But the reason is that while they may even be brawny and stubborn they have weak brains, and nothing can ever change that fact.
Now to return to many of those who never left Montreal mentally, but only physically, and there is the problem, They do not want to really confront the Franco-Amerindians, so just poke at them, that might be a nuisance but it never serves any purpose at all. Until and unless you take on your enemies, you are not going anywhere. Yes! Protest marches by the score d not serve any real use, because those, whom you are fighting or so you think, treat you as a huge joke.
Just think of the Boston Tea Party and how it changed the course of history. Then think of the way committees of correspondence were founded by Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty, and take that as a lesson in how to become more effective when dealing with your enemy. Form Committees of Correspondence and co-ordinate your activities. Because you will have then walked in the footsteps of those who had nothing and yet they went on to challenge the greatest military power on earth and won.
I end this epistle with a quotation from Thomas Paine the Englishman and American patriot:
"These are times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will. In this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of men and women."
