“Ichabod” is on our doors! The
Glory Has Departed!
-- 1 Sam 2:33-34, 4:19-22
To this day, the word “Ichabod” signifies the loss of God’s presence and the
absence of hope in the church. Like the pain in the Phinehas widow, we endure
pain over our nation’s condition, pain over the church’s condition, and pain
over our personal suffering and loss. Like her, we are living in a time of moral
and spiritual decay. We have seen prayer outlawed in our schools. The Ten
Commandments are being removed from Federal and State courthouses. Now our
nation’s courts are shaking their fists at God’s authority and even the mention
of His name. We have homosexuals appearing unstoppable in their obsession to
establish gay marriages. Recently there has even been a movie about gay cowboys,
which has received an Academy Award, with many saying it was one of the best
movies ever made.
Over our country today, churches never mention sin, the cross, sacrifice,
judgement or hell. Only how blessed they are, and you will be too, if you give
to their ministry. Oh....please! The main focus is not on Jesus, but on success
and to make people feel good. This is resulting in apathy, greed,
self-centeredness, and coolness of the heart. This should cause pain to
believers everywhere, as they see God’s name brought to disgrace.
(Ps 78:60) God abandoned the church of greed, removing His Glory from that
backslidden house of flesh. He judged it, writing “Ichabod” over the door of
that church. I believe that this self-serving, get rich gospel and the
competitive church system that promotes it are now under the Ichabod anathema.
(Jer 26:8-9) God is about to make this house (church) like Shiloh. He is going
to cut down the money tree, and a great spoiling will follow. All the hireling
shepherds will follow. All are headed for bankruptcy, and overnight their
massive church programs will be gone.
“Good News is this: in the midst of God’s judgement, He will raise up the
remnant Church, that is full of his Glory, A Samuel
Company.”
These people have been weaned from the world. They know the voice of the Lord
and are wholly dedicated to Him. He is raising them up out of the ruins of a
greedy church and is calling them out of their caves (1Kings 19:10-18). He will
never forsake them. There is a word coming forth now, from watchmen, warning the
Church. (Revelation Chapters 2-3) He that has an ear, hear what the Spirit says
to the church! Many are being trained now in the school of hardship and
affliction. They know what is coming, because the Lord has told them. In spite
of coming judgements, these Godly ones are full of hope and rejoicing, because
they see a new day coming.
So, you can ridicule the law, you can mock holiness, you can tear down
everything that speaks of God, but when you mock or ridicule God’s mercy,
judgement comes and swiftly. If you trample on His Blood of Mercy, you face His
awful wrath (Lam 3:22). It is only the mercy of the Lord that delays judgement.
The Samuel Company knows that God is in full control, and have tasted for
themselves the mercy of God in Christ, and they know his mercies endure forever.
“Go to my Word, saideth the Lord, and stand on my promises. Reject your doubtful
feelings.” All hope is born out of God’s promises. I would like to close with
this scripture from
II Corinthians 4:8-9.
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, we are perplexed, but
not in despair, Persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not
destroyed.”
AMEN!
I pray that all who read this will be blessed. Know and believe the coming of
the Lord is closer than anyone could imagine. (Rev 22:20)
